Cornelius Nozeman & Christiaan Sepp
Cornelius Nozeman (1720–1786) and Christiaan Sepp (c.1710–1775) were central figures behind Nederlandsche Vogelen, one of the most important Dutch ornithological publications of the 18th century. Nozeman, a clergyman and naturalist, supplied detailed descriptions based on close observation of native birds, while Sepp was an accomplished engraver and publisher responsible for the work’s finely produced illustrations. Together, their contributions combined natural-history study with exceptional visual craftsmanship, creating an enduring record of Dutch birdlife.
