Jean Jules Linden

Jean Jules Linden (1817–1898) was a Belgian botanist, plant collector and horticulturist renowned for his pioneering work with orchids. After expeditions to South and Central America, Linden developed new approaches to orchid cultivation and became one of Europe’s leading commercial growers. He published important illustrated works including Lindenia: Iconographie des Orchidées, celebrated for its richly coloured botanical plates and major contribution to 19th-century orchid study.
