Sydenham Edwards

Sydenham Edwards (1768–1819) was a British botanical artist and illustrator whose work played an important role in late 18th- and early 19th-century botanical publishing. He is best known for his long association with Curtis’s Botanical Magazine, where his precise and elegant plant illustrations helped define the publication’s visual style. Edwards later contributed to The Botanical Register and other horticultural works, producing finely observed images valued for both botanical accuracy and decorative appeal.
