Alexandre Bivort

Alexandre Bivort (1809–1872) was a Belgian pomologist and nurseryman who played an important role in documenting cultivated fruit during the 19th century. He published Album de Pomologie between 1847 and 1851 and later contributed to Annales de Pomologie Belge et Étrangère. His work recorded numerous varieties of pears and other fruit with detailed descriptions and finely produced illustrations, helping preserve an important visual and horticultural record of Belgian pomology.
