Guillaume Severeyns

Guillaume Severeyns was a Belgian lithographer and printer active in the 19th century, particularly associated with finely produced botanical and horticultural chromolithographs. His work appeared in important illustrated publications and is noted for its crisp detail, rich colour and accomplished printing technique. Severeyns often worked from the designs of other botanical artists, translating their studies into highly decorative printed plates that reflect the technical quality of Victorian natural-history publishing.
