William Woodville

William Woodville (1752–1805) was an English physician and botanist best known for Medical Botany, published between 1790 and 1794. The work described medicinal plants used by the Royal Colleges of Physicians in London and Edinburgh and was illustrated with finely hand-coloured engraved plates by James Sowerby. Woodville’s publication became an important reference for physicians and botanists, combining medical knowledge with detailed botanical observation.
