Nozeman Owl
A rare hand-coloured copperplate engraving from Nederlandsche Vogelen by Cornelius Nozeman and Christiaan Sepp, published in Amsterdam from 1770.
Nederlandsche Vogelen is considered one of the great works of 18th-century ornithological illustration, renowned for the remarkable scale, accuracy and beauty of its plates.
This engraving was hand-coloured at the time of publication and retains the rich colour and finely observed detail for which the series is celebrated. Original examples from the work are increasingly sought after by collectors of antique bird and natural history illustration.
