Nozeman Duck
A fine and rare hand-coloured copperplate duck engraving from Nederlandsche Vogelen by Cornelius Nozeman and Christiaan Sepp, published in Amsterdam from 1770.
Nederlandsche Vogelen is regarded as one of the great achievements of 18th-century ornithological publishing, and its plates are admired for their scale, precision and exceptionally rich original colour. Examples from the work remain highly sought after by collectors of natural-history illustration.
This engraving was hand-coloured at the time of publication and retains the distinctive clarity and decorative quality for which the series is known.
Presented in a complementary frame behind AR70 glass, which helps reduce reflection while offering a degree of protection from the damaging effects of sunlight, allowing the detail and colour of the image to remain vivid.
Please note that we also have four other Nozeman duck engravings available as part of our Duck Gallery Wall, should you wish to create a larger grouping.
Height - 64.5cm
