Von Wright Swedish Birds - Set of 12 ( can be split into 6s)
A striking set of twelve bird chromolithographs after the work of Finnish artists and ornithologists Magnus von Wright (1805–1868) and Wilhelm von Wright (1810–1887).
The von Wright brothers were renowned for the accuracy and richness of their ornithological studies, capturing plumage, colour and natural detail with a level of precision that distinguished their work in the 19th century.
These colourful chromolithographs were produced around 1920 by the Swedish lithographer A. Bortzells of Stockholm and retain the clarity, detail and decorative appeal associated with the von Wright tradition of bird illustration.
Each work is presented in a bespoke frame behind TruVue glass, which helps reduce reflection while offering a degree of protection to the prints.
The complete set comprises twelve works and can also be divided into sets of six or three. Please contact us for further details.
