A fine set of six copperplate bird engravings dating from 1780 by François Martinet, one of the foremost bird artists and engravers of the 18th century.
Martinet was renowned for the accuracy and elegance of his ornithological work and served as an artist and engraver to the French Court. His bird studies remain highly regarded for their combination of scientific observation and decorative quality.
The engravings are presented mounted but unframed. Bespoke framing can be arranged to your specification if required. Please email us for further details.
